Opening Reception: Friday, October 23rd, 6-8pm

For the opening reception Mirro has invited Rogers & Rosewater, an organisation bringing weekly meals to those facing homelessness & hunger in Oakland to share space.   Megan will be donating 50% of the sales of bread art to them.

edible entitles explores the individuals, and the elements that nourish us through an assemblage of ceramic and bread sculpture.

Whilst yeast makes dough grow transforming bread into something wild that has a life of its own, clay holds a heavy history of what came before us. By working with both baked forms in tandem Mirro invites her audience into an uncanny sculptural world that is tangible, delicious and mischievous.

Workshop Nov 1st: As the transition from October to November brings up many ancient traditions honoring the dead, edible entities will close with a bread workshop where participants learn to sculpt their own edible effigy to commemorate a figure who has passed or an idea that should be consumed in order to move onto a better future.

Megan Mirro is a multidisciplinary artist based in Oakland, California, who works with video, photo archives and illustration through sculptural forms. Inspired by the history of her home studio at The Dome, an artist live/work space founded in the 1970s by pioneers in the field of ceramics, Megan began working in clay in 2020. She approaches hand-building with a playful, exploratory spirit whether it's working with clay or dough. Megan has exhibited throughout the Bay Area and had her first solo show at No Name Cinema in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2025.
